Villa Lotela was originally a beautiful lake front home that was built in 1926. At some point in time, the residence was made in to apartments. There are four one bedroom one bath apartments in the main building. In addition, there is a two bedroom one bath cottage that is detached.
All units are nicely furnished and immaculate.
We welcome short and long term guests. Our specialty is corporate and seasonal rentals. Villa Lotela is a great fit for the traveling professional who needs a comfortable and peaceful home away from home.
If you like to golf or you enjoy lakes...this is the right area for you! Feel free to bring your clubs and your boat! Lake Lotela is great for swimming, boating, skiing, wake boarding, tubing, sailing, and fishing. Spend a week, a month, a summer, a winter, or a year or more. We'd love to have you as our guest!
Our time at Villa Lotela in February of 2011 was everything we had hoped for and more! Unit 2 was very comfortable, clean and provided all the amenities we needed. The kitchen was very well supplied as was the bathroom. If we needed anything at all our very friendly landlords, Conna and Michael went above and beyond to care for us.
The weather was absolutely wonderful with temperatures in the 70’s early in February, then up to the mid 80’s later in the month.
The setting at Villa Lotela is beautiful!! The beaches are clean and well cared for. We had a wonderful covered pavilion that was available for everyone to use that overlooks the lake. It had two fans and electric lighting and a grill which we made good use of. There was comfortable sitting and we often enjoyed the sunsets there.
The town of Avon Park was perfect for us. It is a quiet town with lots of orange groves and outdoor markets nearby. Actually, we got plenty of citrus right on our rental property. We were told to pick whatever we liked: tangerines, grapefruit and oranges. It was great! Avon Park is also centrally located, so we were able to visit most anyplace in Florida without driving too far.

Where is
Avon Park?

TURN 1
Coming from the North heading South on US Hwy 27, when you get into Avon Park, TURN East on Main Street (which is left for the ladies). Note: Main Street is also 64. Landmarks: Corner of 27 and Main St - BP, Marathon, Walgreens, CVS.
TURN 2
Continue East on Main Street for approximately 1.7 miles. Turn South on Marshall. (which is right for the ladies). Landmarks: Pass Catholic Church on the left and see High School on the right. Marshall is the road just past the High School. Once you turn right onto Marshall you go until you run into the Lake. You are home!

Due to a city project that entailed changing street names and numbers, it has been challenging for 5 years to get guests to easily find the property. For example, our address is 700 E Cornell St and you will not see a single street sign that says E. Cornell St.
Coming from the North and heading South on US Highway 27 take these easy 2 turn directions!!
When you come in to Avon Park TURN LEFT (East) on Main Street. Main Street is also 64. Landmarks: BP, Marathon, Walgreens and CVS, Stay on Main Street, go through town (don't blink). Approximately 1.7 miles from 27 till your second turn.
TURN RIGHT on Marshall. Landmarks: Pass Catholic Church on your left and then see High School on your right. Marshall is at the far side of the High School. Stay on Marshall until you run into the lake. You are home.

Take a left/go East on Main Street. Go approximately 1.2 miles and turn right on/go south on Marshall. (Landmarks will be the Catholic church on your left and the high school on the right. Being a 6th generation Floridian is something I am really proud of!!! I am fortunate to have grown up in the small town of Avon Park. At the time, it did not seem special, or unusual....but now I know just how blessed I was to have had that experience.
In contrast, Michael grew up living in many different places since his father was in the Navy. When you meet Michael, you will soon learn that he is a really hard worker. He loves to be outdoors, and enjoys "fixing things." Michael works for Continental/United Airlines in aviation maintenance.
We have two beautiful children. Catherine is 20 and attending college. Christopher is 13, and in the 8th grade.
Can sleep 5-6 but would be too crowded for most
people's comfort level. BEST FOR 1-3 guests. Tile floor throught. Bath has tub/shower.
*Armoire in living area now gone since we have a flat screen tv now.
Small 2 bedroom - 1 full bed, 1 twin bed with trundle, and queen sleeper sofa.
